Ancient Pegasus Coin in Silver
Pegasus is a winged horse, born from the blood of Medusa. The Greeks began adding Pegasus to their coins as early as the 6th century BC; for example, the famous colts of Corinth. Struck by hand from a simple punch, every ancient coin was different from the next. This beautifully detailed and tiny coin was a "trihemiobol", an ancient Greek currency denomination for a 1/4 drachma. The pendant is cast in silver
