Stone of the Week: Rhodolite Garnet

Garnets have always been one of my favorite stones. Not everyone knows that they come in a wide range of colors, including reds, purples, oranges, browns, and greens. When you see the reddish-purple hued garnets, you are dealing with a rhodolite stone. Rhodolite’s etymology comes from the term “rose stone.”

Garnets have a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale, making them a great choice for everyday wear.

People believe rhodolites aid in emotional healing. Whether you believe in crystal healing or not, the luster and light reflection from this gorgeous deep stone can brighten your mood anytime.

I love to get my crystal information from books, including the Pocket Book of stones by Robert Simmons referenced below. Cheers, Jaime
